Licence

Build Emma — Licence

Plain English, because you should be able to read what you bought.

Version 1.0 — 16 September 2026

This is the agreement between you and Gregory Moore, a sole trader in the United Kingdom who makes Build Emma ("we", "us"), when you buy a licence. It's written to be understood. If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy: Gregorymoores@proton.me.

1. What you're buying

A perpetual licence to use Build Emma 2.x — every version numbered 2.something. One purchase. No subscription, no account, no renewal.

2. It keeps working. That's the point.

Your key is checked on your own computer, offline. There is no activation server, nothing is sent to us, and there is no mechanism by which we can switch off, expire or degrade a copy you have installed. If we vanished tomorrow, your Build Emma would keep working.

3. The free trial

30 days, with everything included. When it ends without a key, EMMA's agent, the crew, the assembly line and the night shift stop. The editor, your files, the terminal, git and chat keep working, and nothing is deleted. Enter a key whenever you like and everything is back.

4. Updates

Updates are signed. Build Emma tells you when one exists and installs it only when you say so.

5. Refunds

30 days, no questions asked — as long as the free trial. Email Gregorymoores@proton.me from the address you bought with and we'll refund you. You don't have to give a reason, and we won't try to talk you out of it.

This is in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer, which nothing here takes away.

6. Paying

Build Emma is sold through Onelink, which acts as the reseller for the sale and handles payment, tax and receipts, powered by Stripe. Your receipt and your bank statement will show ONELINK* BUILDEMMA.COM. Onelink's terms cover the payment itself; this licence covers the software.

7. What we don't promise

EMMA runs on AI models — local ones on your hardware, or cloud ones you connect. What she produces depends on those models, and AI models get things wrong. Every change she proposes is shown to you for approval before it is applied, and her work is run before you see it, but you are responsible for the code you accept, for what you ask her to run, and for keeping your own backups.

If you connect a cloud model with your own key, your use of it is between you and that provider, under their terms.

Except where the law doesn't allow it to be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and your rights as a consumer — Build Emma is provided "as is", and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for your licence.

8. Losing your key

Your key was emailed to you when you bought. If you lose it, email Gregorymoores@proton.me from the address you bought with and we'll send it again. The key belongs to your name and email, not to a computer, so reinstalling or moving to a new one needs nothing from us.
